You’ve got a few small muscles at the base of your skull called your “suboccipitals”. These muscles are traditionally responsible for very small, very fine movements of your head. However they can become overworked, tense and tender due to factors like poor posture, poor ergonomics at a work station, eye strain (wearing new glasses or needing glasses), and stress. WHAT IS A TENSION HEADACHE? Tightness in these small cervical muscles can also pinch nerves in the back of your neck which can create a painful “headache” sensation. If your headache comes from the tight muscles at the base of your skull, it very well may be a “tension” headache which should respond well to these exercises in this video. HOW TO RELIEVE NECK TENSION AT THE BASE OF YOUR SKULL The best way to promote relaxation and release in these muscles is four simple steps. 1. Heat - apply heat to the area for 15-20 minutes to increase blood flow and promote relaxation. 2. Massage - massage/mobilization is a great way to further decrease tension and promote relaxation in the muscles in this tight area. 3. Stretching - increase pain-free motion and decrease tightness with gentle pain-free stretching. 4. Strengthening - training the right muscles in your neck and in your back can improve your posture and decrease tension. Of course - you’re going to get all of these in this amazing video! I’ll go into detail and give you all the tips and tricks you need to eliminate tightness/tension and feel better fast. Friday Favorites: What's the Ideal BMI and Waist Size?

Is there a unisex chart to see what your optimal weight might be based on your height? Increased risk of metabolic complications starts at an abdominal circumference of 31.5 inches in women and 37 inches in most men, though it’s closer to 35.5 inches for South Asian, Chinese, and Japanese men. This video may be triggering for people with a history of eating disorders. While there is an optimum waist size for health, it is important that one does not go to extreme measures to achieve these numbers, as this can result in devastating physical and mental consequences. What to Eat (Swahili) - Diabetes Series

Nini kinafaa kula. By Global Health Media Project: https://globalhealthmedia.org Over thousands of years, people have learned to combine different foods to create healthy ways of eating – with the exception of the modern western diet. The shift to highly processed foods, worldwide, underlies the rise of obesity, diabetes, and other diet-related chronic diseases. Although there is no single ideal diet, this video describes how to eat a healthy diet by eating real whole food – as our families ate before the coming of industrialized food. This video is one of over 30 videos in our series on diabetes prevention and care. The videos are targeted for three audiences: health care workers – to help guide providers in developing countries in good diabetes care; people with diabetes – to improve their knowledge and home care; and the general public – to increase their understanding of diabetes, with the aim of greater awareness of the risks and symptoms, and ways to prevent type 2 diabetes. What to Eat - Diabetes Series
